San Francisco is a pretty coastal city. I and my husband Harshad went there late 2007 to attend the Oracle OpenWorld conference which is held at Moscone Center every year.
San Francisco is a west coast city in the US and we travelled from India on a direct Mumbai-New York flight. We spent a couple of days with friends at the east coast. Apart from New York we also visited Washington DC , tales of which I will recount elsewhere. Both these cities had very cold weather (it rained in NewYork) and I caught a cold and the beginnings of flu inspite of all the layers of clothing. We left for San Fransisco very early on Sunday morning. I suffered from a horrible ear ache (which is quite common in air travel) during the flight inspite of the usual remedies of sweet-sucking and yawning. I had not yet recovered when we reached San Francisco at 2PM on Sunday. Continue reading “San Francisco Diary”
This article is about a disastrous trip to Brightlands, Matheran. I share my experiences with you with the hope to save trusting souls who book a package at Brightlands.

My blogs are turning out to be travelogues not by prior design
but by accident. This one too is about a place called Gavkos that I recently visited.
Gavkos is a lovely privately owned farm-land and farm-house which has been converted into a picnic spot. It’s about 35 KM from Pune. There are two routes that you can pick from to exit Pune. One is via the Sinhagad Road and another from Warje. The roads meet near Khadakwasla. Continue reading “Gavkos”
DiveAghar is a lovely sea side village. It’s populace amounts to about 5000 people. Its Quaint!! Thats what I like about it. Very quaint houses and lanes and everything the way you would like in a small non commercial quaint seaside village. Continue reading “Part II – In Dive Aghar”
I recently went on a over night trip to Dive Aghar. It is a wonderful place that is not documented about enough!! In fact my internet search on Dive Aghar was quite useless.
I’m trying to pen my experience in two parts. In this part, I talk about the journey. Continue reading “Part I – Enroute to Dive Aghar”
